It didn’t take long for me to figure out that it can be hard coming to a huge state university where it takes extreme intentionality to surround yourself with Christ-centered community. In fact, after my first semester at MSU, I had been close to transferring to another school where I had tons of close friends who were wholeheartedly following Jesus. But I knew in my heart that Michigan State was where the Lord wanted me to be and that it truly is possible to find and cultivate a family of wholehearted followers of Jesus. The House of Prayer has become that family for me. It has made a life-changing difference to be surrounded by people who believe in me and my dreams and are willing to dive into a deeper relationship with Jesus as the Body of Christ. This is a family that is striving to break out of the four walls of the church building and invite Jesus into our every day lives.
